Approvals are the heart of maebe: you create a post and get your client's "yes" for it – before it goes live. Instead of emailing screenshots and waiting for replies, the whole sign-off happens in one tidy place.
The basic idea
The flow is always the same, whether it's a single image or a whole video that needs approval:
- You share the post. In the post editor you create an approval link and send it to your client.
- Your client takes a look at the post. They see it exactly the way it'll look later – with no maebe account of their own, just through the link.
- They approve or reject. With a short PIN they confirm the approval, or send the post back with a comment.
- You see the result in the editor. The status flips – approved, rejected or still open. You stay on top of things at all times.
In short: Share → Review → Approve/Reject → Status in the editor. That's all it takes.
What your clients can do
Depending on what you allow when you share, your client can do more than just give a thumbs up:
- Approve or reject – this is always possible.
- Comment – leave notes directly on the post.
- Adjust the caption, date or image crop – if you allow it.
- Upload their own media – such as a better photo, if you've enabled it.
Other ways to get an approval
Not every approval has to run through an external link:
- Internal approval – someone on your team with an approval role signs off directly in the app. More on this under Internal approval.
- Collections – bundle several posts behind a single client URL instead of sending each link separately. See Collections.
Where to go next
The best next step is to set up your first link: Sharing an approval link & PIN. If you want to know what reaches your client, read What your clients see.
