You can delete your maebe account yourself at any time – right in the app or in your browser, without contacting us. Deletion is permanent: your account and all associated data are removed for good.
How to delete your account
- Open your account (click your name at the top of the sidebar, then Account).
- Go to the Profile tab and scroll all the way down to the Danger zone.
- Tap Delete account.
- You'll first see exactly what will be removed. To confirm, you go through two steps: first type in your email address, then type the word delete.
- After you confirm, your account is deleted immediately and irreversibly.
What gets deleted
- Your user account, including name, email and profile picture
- Any teams you solely own – including projects, posts, uploaded images and videos, media pools and all related content
- Any active subscription is cancelled
If you're only a member of other people's teams, your membership there is removed – the teams themselves and their content stay with their owner.
Retention after deletion
Your account and content are removed from the live system immediately. For technical reasons, copies may remain in our encrypted backups for up to 30 days and are then overwritten during regular backup rotation. Beyond that we do not retain any of your data – except what we are legally required to keep (e.g. invoice data relevant for tax purposes).
Good to know
- Deletion cannot be undone. Download anything you want to keep beforehand.
- If a team should keep running, transfer its ownership to someone else before deleting – otherwise the team is deleted with your account.
