Uploading & editing media

Upload, crop, sort images and videos and remove individual media again.

Approx. 2 min read

Media are the heart of many posts. In the post editor you upload images and videos, shape them and arrange them โ€“ all in the content column on the left.

Uploading media

  1. Tap the plus tile in the media area.
  2. Pick one or more files from your device โ€“ or simply drag them in.
  3. maebe uploads them and shows them as tiles.

You can add as many media as you like to a post, for example for a carousel post with several images.

Note: maebe handles large files too โ€“ images up to around 100 MB and videos up to about 2 GB. So there's no need to shrink anything beforehand. For large videos the upload takes a little longer depending on your internet connection.

Cropping images

After uploading, you can crop each image. Open the crop tool on a tile, drag the section into place and confirm. maebe aligns the crop with the chosen aspect ratio of your format, so the image sits right later with no nasty surprises. You can readjust the crop again at any time.

Changing the order

If you have several media, you decide the order in which they appear. Just move the tiles to the spot you want โ€“ the first tile is the post's cover image. The new order is saved right away.

Removing media

If you no longer need a piece of media, you can remove it again. As long as the post is still editable, the tile disappears and the media no longer counts toward the post.

When the post is locked

Once a post is already approved or posted, you can only view media โ€“ view, enlarge, play videos and download, but no longer change anything. If you do want to swap something out, first move the post back to draft. You'll find more about the states under The post editor.
