Setup assistant & first steps

How maebe guides you at the start – with a short setup dialog and a dashboard checklist.

Approx. 2 min read

The first time you sign in, maebe doesn't leave you alone on an empty dashboard. Two small helpers guide your start – both are optional and can be dismissed anytime.

The setup assistant

Right after signing in, a short dialog walks you through the most important basics step by step:

  • Team name: Give your workspace a name that fits you. You can change it anytime later in your team settings.
  • First project: Projects group your posts – for example per client, campaign or channel. You create your first one right here.
  • Where you plan: You tell us which platforms you work on and whether you'd also like to publish directly through maebe in the future. This helps us show you what's relevant.
  • AI kickstart: You can give the AI some context about you and add a writing sample. Both are optional – but the better maebe knows you, the sharper its suggestions get.

You can skip any step, and you can close the whole assistant via Skip in the top right. Want to go through it again later? Open it anytime via the Open setup assistant button in the first-steps list.

The first-steps list

On your dashboard you'll find a list of things worth doing once – from your first project to your first shared post to trying out the AI assistant.

The handy part: maebe ticks the boxes automatically as soon as you've done something. You never check anything off by hand. A progress bar shows how far along you are. Which items appear depends on your plan – larger plans add things like team invitations and internal approvers.

If you don't need the list (anymore), hide it via Hide.

Why context & a writing sample?

maebe's AI assistant suggests ideas and copy for you. If you tell it what you're about and add an example of your writing style, the suggestions sound more like you. The writing sample is used as a style reference only – the AI mirrors your tone, not the content. You can add or change both anytime later in your team settings.

What about Social Connect?

If you've booked the Social Connect extra, a separate short prompt greets you on the dashboard and guides you to connect your first account. You can then publish directly from maebe and receive insights about your posts afterwards.
