Storage

Where to see your storage usage, what takes up space and what helps when storage is full.

Approx. 2 min read

Every team has its own storage. That's where all the media you upload to your posts and media pools live โ€“ images and videos. How much space you have depends on your plan.

Where to see your usage

You'll find your storage level at the very bottom of the sidebar. There you can see at a glance how much of the available space is already used. That way you notice early when things get tight โ€“ before an upload stops going through.

The value shown always applies to the currently selected team. If you work in several teams, each has its own storage โ€“ a full team doesn't affect the others.

What takes up space

Videos take up the most storage, followed by images. Captions, dates and settings barely register. So if your storage fills up quickly, it's almost always the uploaded media that's the reason.

Tip: High-resolution videos can be very large. Only upload the versions you really need.

When storage is full

Once your storage is used up, you can't upload any new media. Two things help:

  1. Clean up: Delete posts, media pools or individual files you no longer need. Reviewed and published content whose media you no longer need are good candidates. As soon as you remove files, the space frees up again.
  2. Book more space: If cleaning up isn't enough, a larger plan gives you more storage. You can read how to do that under Viewing & changing your plan.

It's best to go through your old projects regularly โ€“ that keeps your storage tidy and means you don't have to clean up only when it gets urgent.
