Profile & security

Change your name, photo, email and password – and set how maebe looks.

Approx. 2 min read

In your account you set how you appear in maebe and how you sign in. Unlike a team, your account belongs only to you – the settings here apply everywhere, in every team you work in.

Name & profile picture

Your name appears everywhere you show up in a team: on comments, in activity and next to your approvals. Enter it so colleagues recognize you right away.

You upload your profile picture directly in your account. After uploading, you can crop it to the right framing before you save. A recognizable picture makes it easier for your team to place you in lists and comments.

Email address

Your email address is your sign-in name and the way maebe reaches you – for notifications and invitations, for example. You can change it in your account settings.

Note: If you use the same address for several teams, you'll get all your messages bundled into one inbox.

Changing your password

You also change your password in the account area. To do so, enter your current password and then the new one twice.

This keeps your access secure:

  • Choose a long, unique password that you don't use anywhere else.
  • Change it immediately if you suspect someone knows it.
  • Never pass your password on – for collaboration there are team invitations, not a shared login.

Light or dark appearance

maebe comes in a light and a dark look. You set it in your account, and maebe remembers your choice across all your devices. Try both – working in the dark is often more comfortable, while many people prefer the light look during the day.

What you control where

Profile and security live in your account. Who has which rights in which team is set per team instead. Which messages reach you and how is something you decide under Setting up channels.
